I just cannot live without it!

Updated: Apr 28, 2022

Do you have a favorite item that you can't seem to be without? I think we all have something that we love that isn't easily replaceable. In this post I'll share some cult favs along with one or two of my holy grails and absolute must haves!

Here are five of my favorite makeup foundations. Just so you know, they aren't listed in any particular order.

-Lancome Teint Idole

I've always been a lover of Lancome products. This is definitely one of my favorite high end brands because of the quality and inclusivity of products that accommodate all shades of women. My holy grail foundation is their teint idole. It has great buildable coverage with a consistency that isn't too thick nor thin. It sets to reveal a beautiful semi matte finish, which I love. I also find that it lasts pretty much all day with minimal need for touch ups. The price point is $47 at Sephora but it is worth the sacrifice.

-Nars radiant longwear foundation

This foundation has the perfect consistency. It creates a smooth canvas that gives the skin a soft, natural look. One of the reasons I gravitated towards this foundation is because of how easily it can be applied. It isn't heavy on the skin so it feels breathable while providing extensive coverage to eliminate the use of concealer in some cases. This foundation dries down to a beautiful dewy and polished look. Another plus is that it stays put without transfer. I found that it doesn't oxidize either, which definitely makes this one a keeper! If you couldn't tell by now this is another one of my holy-grail foundations. Though on the more expensive side, I would most definitely recommend for someone looking for a medium coverage foundation. This retails for $49 from the Nars official website. It is on the steep side but worth the coins.

-M.A.C pro longwear foundation

I love this foundation because as the name suggests, it has proven to do its job as a long lasting product. This was one of the first foundations I tried when I was introduced to wearing makeup and its safe to say that I've held on to my relationship with it. My favorite feature about this foundation is that it gives me a flawless look without looking "cakey". I tend to use this as a winter shade as it blends better with my skin during cooler periods. Retails for $38.

-Dior Forever Skin

This is a great matte foundation. If you're in the search for a high end matte, full coverage foundation then this is the product for you. This effortlessly gives a flawless "made" up look. Initially, the shade I purchased seemed a bit too much on the red/orange side which worried me considering its price. However, after incorporating the other products in my makeup routine, everything was able to come together to produce a gorgeous, airbrushed look. This foundation retails for $52. I only use this when going out on the town or special events as opposed to every day. My only qualm with this product was that it dried down very quickly so I had to apply quickly, Otherwise, it's a good product.

-Chanel Perfection Lumiere

It was the smooth texture of the foundation that sold me. Not only did it give a skin like appeal, but it added a soft glow. I found that this product was similar to the m.a.c. prolong wear in its consistency and the way it sat on my skin. However, unlike, the prolong wear foundation, I can wear this all year around. Retails for $50.

honorable mention: Nars soft matte foundation. Really good foundation but may not be the best for persons with dry skin. Retails for $40
