A nailed impression is a lasting one

Updated: May 6, 2022

Okay darlings let's talk nails!

Whether it's making a point with your pointer of sending a certain emphasized message, nothing quite captures attention like a flawless set of manicured nails. There are so many options and styles to choose from! Nails are an art form in my opinion. No matter how basic or glammed the designs may seem, they're a reflection of the owner. Styles vary to incorporate shapes like oval, square and my personal favorite, the coffin/ ballerina among others, In the nail world anything goes from glitter to mattes, rhinestones and everything in between. Whatever it may be, slay at your own will because there are no rules when it comes to nails.

When it comes to nails my personal style is classy and clean with a touch of glamour. I established my personal style by incorporating a multitude of continuous influential ideas that stemmed from various nail art designs. If I was to describe my nail style in one word it would be "designer", simply because they resemble nails that attract attention, nails to display as opposed to nails designed to suit "everyday" or "work". Although I like my nails to have a certain luxurious flare to them, I absolutely adore the work of art birthed when simplicity meets edgy. Overall, I both appreciate and enjoy the freedom of expression one can obtain via the self-care act of having your nails done. Getting nails done should be on everybody's list. After all, your nails say a lot about who you are.

Check out a few of my favorite nail designs done by my nail tech at "Creative nails", located in Downtown, Freeport.

French tips

Always classy, this style gives a certain "je ne sais quoi". One can never go wrong with this versatile, simple yet sexy style. Whether the design is the traditional horizontal, V french tip or the more modern ombre french, it remains beautiful and timeless. French tips are a favorite of mines that are easily complimented and accentuated. As seen below, I chose to add a gold glitter to a ring finger in one and little crystals that resemble ice in another.

The marbles

Marbles add such a luxurious feel and look to a fresh set of nails. They can be manipulated to accentuate any style. I love playing with the shapes and dimensions and while incorporating marbles alongside different types of nails like mattes, glosses and maneuvering the lavish pattern around invisible spaces. Marbles give the 'polished' effect to complete a set of nails.

Mattes There's something edgy about a matte coat on nails that I love! The fact that mattes aren't restricted solely to combining with other mattes is great for balance in some nail designs. Mattes, in my opinion, has a paradoxical effect as it uses the subtle dulling appeal to completely accentuate a look. Whether paired with marbles, glitters, stones, or solid colors, mattes always take a look to a next level.

Some nails cannot be placed in a particular category.; therefore, I've decided to represent them in this miscellaneous group of designs.

These particular nails were done for my birthday one year. These incorporated mattes and rose gold shimmer. I also added an invisible space with designs that resemble henna patterns.

Glossy nails have been both a go to and eye-catcher from as long as nails have been around. Top coats give nails a certain luster that adds sexiness to any look. Check out this pink nail set accented by a black abstract design on the pointer. An invisible space also adds an interesting look to the index fingernail while the ring fingernail is draped with Swarovski crystals. The pinky nail dazzles from a coat of champagne shimmer. The overall look comes together to give simple but stylish at the same time.

I've given this design the name "Mehendi glam" simply because of the elegant patterns that flow to mimic henna markings. Paired with nude nails, pearl-like stones and a textured index finger this look comes together to produce a classy and elegant look.

Prints, jewels and glosses always add appeal to a nail design. I wanted something simple but lively. Glossy pinks paired with floral prints and simple jewels came together to create this look.

I hope you all enjoyed this nail inspiration post. Be sure to flaunt your designs and remember feel good, look good.
